Workshops for volunteers „Ensuring sustainability of volunteer-based home care services”, 10-16 May, 2011

The goal of 2011-cicle of seminar was to develop beneficiaries’ capacities to identify, promote and implement local strategies for home care program continuity and also to solve the most important social problems in their communities, learning how to write correctly a project proposal and apply fundraising methods at local and international level.

The goal of 2011-cicle of seminar was to develop beneficiaries’ capacities to identify, promote and implement local strategies for home care program continuity and also to solve the most important social problems in their communities, learning how to write correctly a project proposal and apply fundraising methods at local and international level.

The training activities were organized in common with NGO “Homecare”, MCA national partner.

Participants’ profile: coordinators of local multidisciplinary team, volunteers, parish members, social workers, nurses, representatives of local public administration and other social institutions (school, kindergarten, NGOs).

Each seminar lasted 2 days, from 9.00 to 16.00 o’clock. For an efficient organization at local level the host-organization was responsible for the quality of technical conditions as participants’ transportation, organization of coffee-breaks and meals, arrangement of the training room with necessary furniture and equipment.

Each invited parish was represented by 2-5 persons from different working fields. According to the program, first participants had learned about the concept of sustainability and the main components of the volunteer-based homecare projects. A detailed structure of a project proposal was elaborated in common with participants and there had been explained the important remarks that should be took in consideration in the process of writing and promotion of a project proposal. Also it had been strongly emphasized the importance of the team-work and correct distribution of responsibilities in the process or project administration.

The seminars inspired participants to continue their current activity in social field and moreover to develop their capacities in order to make transparent and solve social problems from their community, region. It was the last cycle of seminars for volunteers and coordinators of local mobile teams and it gave us opportunity to evaluate the best practices and initiatives concerning homecare services. It is important to mention the good implication and the efficiency of mobile team from several villages as: Hansca, Costesti, Ulmu, Gangura, Rusestii Noi, Suruceni, etc. Also within the seminars it was evident the better understanding and interpretation of volunteer work and the importance of partnership-based activity.
