Study visit to the Netherlands

Within August 17-26, 2013 period a study visit to the Netherlands was organized by Moldovan Christian Aid in partnership with ICCO & Kerk in Actie. The visitors group included 15 participants, young volunteers and group leaders from the following localities: Țarigrad, Ulmul, Cimișeni, Rotunda, Hincăuți, Văratic villages, Edineț and Dondușeni towns, Tiraspol and Chișinău.

Young volunteers were interested to learn the experience of the Holland partners in developing of social activities for the vulnerable people at the parish and community level. Congregations from Beverwijk, Heemskerk, Roden and Huizen offered their hospitality to the moldovan youngsters.

Young volunteers visited the care center for the elderly people, care stationary for the people with mental disabilities, center for homeless people in Amsterdam, Clothing and Food banks in Roden. Visitors were highly impressed by the high quality and variety of care services for the needy in the Netherlands.

Moldovan youngsters had the great opportunity to communicate with their peers during the open social activities organized by the congregations. They organized a small presentation of Moldovan cultural traditions and learned more about the Netherlands at the Dutch culture evening. It was a great opportunity to get acquanted with the traditions and history of the Netherlands. Together with hosting families young people visited historical places &churches, Maduradam, and Het Binnenhof and brought home remarkable memories about all those seen.
