On Wednesday, July 19 2017, Moldovan Christian Aid has organized a training for the members of the multidisciplinary team in village Coteala, rayon Briceni, Northern region of Moldova. The team has been created recently to participate in the implementation of the project “Improving family protection and preservation at the local level by developing community advocacy capacities”. 9 communities from the Northern part of Moldova are involved in the project activities. The team, which is coordinated by the community social assistant, also includes the village priest, two social workers, local schoolteacher, librarian, adult and young volunteers.  A local council member participated in the training, showing her interest to participate in the advocacy campaign in order to promote family values and to support the protection of vulnerable families from the community. Altogether 22 active people from Coteala participated in the training activities.

The local team succeeded to learn what advocacy is and to practice skills that are useful in planning an advocacy campaign being involved in several practical exercises and small group work. In the end of the learning sessions they came out with a draft of the action plan to conduct informational community events that will promote family preservation and unity. The training ended up with the usual evaluation session during which the participants completed the evaluation questionnaire. The majority of participants appreciated the training very much, being highly appreciated the methods used during the seminar as well as the usefulness of the information received and proposed to organize such trainings more often and on different topics related to community participation and mobilization.


On July 18th, present year as it was planned, a training in advocacy was held in village Rotunda, Edinet rayon for the members of the local interdisciplinary team that is involved in the project “Improving family protection and preservation at the local level by developing community advocacy capacities”. The 10 months project is implemented by Moldovan Christian Aid in partnership with Nursing Association from the Republic of Moldova with the financial support of the European Union and Austrian Development Cooperation. During the training the participants learned what advocacy is meant for and discussed the main steps of implementing a community advocacy campaign to promote family preservation, its values and importance.

During that day 17 participants including social assistant, social worker, the priest from the village, a schoolteacher, the director of community culture center, young and adult volunteers gathered together to learn skills that are necessary in the process of advocacy implementation and to think over a draft plan of a future advocacy campaign to be organized in their community. They worked in teams so everyone could get involved and had the possibility to come up with their ideas and proposals. The aim of the campaign is to raise community awareness on the Moldovan family issues and to promote family protection and preservation. During the evaluation session all the  participants highly appreciated the training results, having mentioned the usefulness of the knowledge and skills acquired for the further project activities, such as a planning workshop and the organization of the campaign itself as well as pledging for other important issues community faces.

Training held in Sirauti village

Within the second half of July, continued the round of trainings for the local teams involved in the project. On July 17 2017, Moldovan Christian Aid carried out a training for the multidisciplinary team members in village Sirauti, Briceni district. The team in Sirauti has been established recently in order to participate in the implementation of the project “Improving family protection and preservation at the local level by developing community advocacy capacities”. 9 communities from the Northern part of Moldova are involved in the project activities. The team, which is coordinated by the community social assistant, also includes the village priest, one social worker, local schoolteacher, adult volunteers and young people.  In the training participated the school principle, being open to get involved in the implementation of the advocacy campaign. Altogether 18 people attended the training activities in village Sirauti.

The local team learned what advocacy is and practiced skills that are useful in planning an advocacy campaign as they were involved in several practical exercises and small group work. Everyone was encouraged to participate actively and to share ideas and opinions, being created a warm working atmosphere by the team-building activities that the training started with. In the end of the learning sessions they came out with a draft of the action plan to conduct informational community events that will promote family preservation and unity. The training ended up with the usual evaluation session during which the participants completed the evaluation questionnaire. The majority of participants appreciated the training with the maximum mark, being highly appreciated the methods used during the seminar as well as the usefulness of the information received, especially for conducting following project activities.

The project is implemented by Moldovan Christian Aid in partnership with Nursing Association from the Republic of Moldova with the financial support of the European Union and Austrian Development Cooperation. During the training the participants learned what advocacy is meant for and discussed the main steps of implementing a community advocacy campaign to promote family preservation, its values and importance.

On the second week of July, to be exact on July 5 2017, Moldovan Christian Aid organized a training for the multidisciplinary team members in village Blesteni, Edinet district. This team has  been set up recently to participate in the implementation of the project “Improving family protection and preservation at the local level by developing community advocacy capacities”. 9 communities from the Northern part of Moldova are involved in the project activities. The team, which is coordinated by the community social assistant, also includes the village priest, three social workers, local schoolteacher, adult volunteers and young people. The mayoralty secretary of the commune also participated in the training, showing her openness to support the implementation of the advocacy campaign. Altogether 19 people attended the training activities in Blesteni village.

Training in Varatic for the local team

On Tuesday, July 4 2017, Moldovan Christian Aid has organized a training for the members of the multidisciplinary team in Varatic village, Riscani district, Northern region of Moldova. The team has been created recently to participate in the implementation of the project “Improving family protection and preservation at the local level by developing community advocacy capacities”. 9 communities from the Northern part of Moldova are involved in the project activities. The team, which is coordinated by the community social assistant, also includes the village priest, two social workers, local schoolteacher, librarian, adult and young volunteers.  A local council member participated in the training, showing her interest to participate in the advocacy campaign in order to promote family values and to support the protection of vulnerable families from the community. This team has  been set up recently to participate in the implementation of the project “Improving family protection and preservation at the local level by developing community advocacy capacities”. 9 communities from the Northern part of Moldova are involved in the project activities. The team, which is coordinated by the community social assistant, also includes the village priest, two social workers, local gymnasium teacher, adult volunteers and young people. The mayor of the commune also participated in the training together with a member of the local council, showing her openness to support the implementation of the advocacy campaign. Altogether 22 people participated in the training activities in Zabriceni village.

On July 1, 2017 a training in advocacy was organized in Alexandreni village for the members of the local multidisciplinary team that is involved in the project “ Improving family protection and preservation at the local level by developing community advocacy capacities”. The project is implemented by Moldovan Christian Aid in partnership with Nursing Association from the Republic of Moldova with the financial support of the European Union and Austrian Development Cooperation. During the training the participants learned what advocacy is meant for and discussed the main steps of implementing a community advocacy campaign to promote family preservation, its values and importance.

On that day 15 participants including social workers, the priest from the local parish, a schoolteacher, young and adult volunteers gathered together to learn skills that are necessary in the process of advocacy implementation and to think over a draft plan of a future advocacy campaign to be organized in their village. Moreover, young mother with her baby also came to the meeting and participated in the discussions. They worked in teams so everyone could get involved and had the possibility to come up with their ideas and proposals. The aim of the campaign is to raise community awareness on the Moldovan family issues and to promote family protection and preservation. During the evaluation session all the  participants appreciated the training results very highly, having mentioned the usefulness of the knowledge and skills acquired for the further project activities, such as  a planning workshop and the organization of the campaign itself.

La 1 iulie 2017 în localitatea Alexăndreni, raionul Edineț a avut loc un training pentru membrii echipei multidisciplinare creată de curînd pentru a participa la activitățile proiectului ”Îmbunătățirea protecției și păstrării familiei la nivel local prin dezvoltarea capacităților comunitare de advocacy”. Proiectul dat este impelemntat de A.O. Ajutorul Creștin din Moldova în parteneriat cu Asociația de Nursing din RM fiind susținut financiar de Uniunea Europeană, Agenția Austriacă pentru Dezvoltare.

În cadrul seminarului 15 participanți din cadrul echipei din Alexăndreni au învățat ce este advocacy și discutat etapele principale de implementare a unei campanii de advocacy comunitare pentru promovarea familiei și a importanței acesteia. Participanții, printre care asistentul social, preotul din localitate, lucrătorul social, directorul casei de cultură, cadru didactic din gimnaziu local, voluntari adulți și tineri în cadrul unui exercițiu au elaborat schița unui plan de acțiuni pentru a însuși mai bine cum se planifică și se implementează o campanie de advocacy. Aceștia au rămas mulțumiți de rezultatele instruirii, la sfîrșit ei apreciind ca fiind utilă pentru activitățile ulterioare în cadrul proiectului.
